Advanced Mechanical Weatherproofing
Unlike traditional cable glands that warp in the sun or rely on messy silicone sealants that degrade over time, Scanstrut relies entirely on precision mechanical compression. Each unit features a tapered internal rubber bung that wraps around the cable, combined with a high-grade, closed-cell waterproof base gasket. Rigorously tested and certified to IPX6 and IPX7 (IP68 compliant) standards, this design prevents water ingress even during high-pressure washdowns or extreme driving rain.
No Connector Removal Required
Every seal comes supplied with both a pre-drilled inner bung and a blank bung that can be custom-drilled to fit specialized wiring. Installation Guidelines:
Ensure the mounting surface is thoroughly cleaned, flat, and completely free of debris before peeling the adhesive backing off the foam base gasket. Use the included drilling template to mark your holes accurately. When fitting the cable, choose the matching pre-drilled diameter slit from the included kit or drill out the blank bung to match your specific wire gauge. Hand-tighten all stainless steel fixings evenly to ensure a flush, uniform, and vibration-proof seal against the panel.
